Private Events & Rental FAQ

1. Can I have my wedding ceremony at Lucas Meetings & Events (LME)?
Answer: Yes, there are indoor and outdoor spaces available for wedding ceremonies, receptions and rehearsal dinners.

2. Do I have to use Lucas School House Caterer?
Answer: Not necessarily. We have an open catering policy and can certainly recommend several great area caterers. This is your special event and the most important thing to us is that you’re happy and comfortable with all aspects of the event.

3. What about Bar Services, Minimums, Event Rentals and Additional Staff requirements?
Answer: LME will provide and operate all Bar Services for all events. This is NOT negotiable. Minimum fees are in place to protect LME from a revenue generating point of view. If we close down part of our operation to accommodate a private party, we must assure that we do not do so at the expense of our over-all business. The Minimum fees are easily met, even by smaller parties, through bar services or catering services provided for your party.
Additional Event Equipment, such as tables, chairs, linens, audio/visual and other will also be provided by LME. LME will staff each event according to the specific needs of the individual client. None of the above mentioned services are included in the room rental price and will be an additional charge billed to you prior to the event.

4. What does the rental fee include?
Answer: Your rental fee includes the use of the room during your rental time slot, cleaning of the room and parking on a first come, first serve basis. Valet parking is available upon request at an additional charge and may be required at certain events.

5. Does LME provide decorations for private events?
Answer: No, these arrangements must be made with outside vendors of your choice. (Candles are allowed in the rooms). No room alterations or attaching of anything to the walls without prior LME authorization will be allowed

6. Can I have music at my event at LME?
Answer: A BIG YES! LME was built for live music and stage productions. LME can arrange and provide a variety of local, regional or national level music and comedy talent or a variety of speakers for your event. With a prior authorization from LME you may bring your own band, DJ, or other music performers of your choice to play during your event.

7. Where are my guests allowed to park and how many spaces are available?
Answer: LME controls more parking spaces in Soulard than any other establishment. We will provide you and your guests with a map of available parking lots for private events. They are free of charge, on a first come, first serve basis. Valet parking is also available at an additional charge, but must be arranged for in advance. For certain events, valet parking will be required. In consideration of the neighborhood, please do not park in front of any driveways. LME management encourages street parking to the west of the venue when possible.

8. What time can I access the room before the event?
Answer: Set-up time will depend on the nature of the event, but the room is generally available two hours prior to the event start time.

9. May I store materials for my event at LME prior to the event?
Answer: This depends greatly upon the nature of your storage needs. Please check with us a few weeks prior to your event and will work with you the best we can.

11. How and when may I secure my date for my event at LME?
Answer: We encourage large events to be booked as early as possible to assure availability. One date, in one room may be tentatively held for up to 48 hours before signing the rental contract and paying the 50% deposit.

12. What forms of payment are accepted for my event at LME?
